Trains on one Merseyrail line are not running in both directions as emergency services deal with an “incident”.
The travel provider posted an update on the social media platform, X, just before 10pm on Monday, November 27, reporting services on the Ormskirk line were suspended following an incident. A spokesperson confirmed they had received reports of a person being struck by a train.
The statement read: “Due to a person being hit by a train the Ormskirk line is disrupted. Disruption is expected until 11.30pm. Train services between Liverpool Central Northern and Ormskirk have been suspended.

“Replacement road transport services are conveying passengers between Sandhills and Ormskirk in both directions until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Merseyrail rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.”
A rail replacement bus service is now running between Sandhills and Ormskirk in both directions as emergency services respond. National Rail also tweeted to say disruption was expected until at least 11.30pm.
Traffic monitoring service, INRIX, said: “No service on Merseyrail between Liverpool Central and Ormskirk and buses run instead of trains between Sandhills and Ormskirk due to emergency services dealing with an incident.”
