Tottenham and Club Bruges are in talks over a deal for 18-year-old winger Antonio Nusa.
Bruges want £25million for Nusa, a Chelsea target last summer, and a guarantee he remains with them for the rest of the season.
The Belgian side are thought to be hoping for maximum value for a player that is considered to have a very high ceiling, with both Spurs and the Blues monitoring his progress.
In fact, the north London outfit are thought to have been tracking the teenager for sometime, and made efforts to ensure they are front of the queue for his services.
Nusa has three goals and three assists in 26 appearances across all competitions for Club Bruges at just 18 years of age, and has already become something of a key figure.
His rise in the Jupiler Pro League has also seen the winger called upon by Norway manager Stale Solbakken, with Nusa making his international debut in a friendly against Jordan, scoring and assisting in the 6-0 demolition job.
Scoring against Porto in the Champions League, Nusa became the second-youngest goalscorer in the history of the competition at just 17 years and 149 days last season.
Meanwhile, Ivan Perisic has joined HNK Hajduk Split on loan until the summer when his Tottenham contract runs out.
The 34-year-old has been sidelined since suffering an ACL injury in training, just six matches into the current campaign.
He now returns to the club in which he began his footballing career, though never made a senior appearance before departing for Sochaux aged 17.
Perisic will reportedly receive a monthly salary of just €1 (86p) for the remainder of this season with the Croatian side, as well as in the next campaign.
He will be able to increase his earnings beyond his gesture of goodwill through various bonuses.
