A teenage boy died after being knifed in a horror stabbing in Moss Side on Thursday afternoon (April 4), the Manchester Evening News understands. Emergency services flooded the scene on Raby Street after the attack.
An air ambulance was scrambled to the incident, landing in Millenium Park, as police cordoned off neighbouring streets shortly after 4.15pm. Forensics later arrived to conduct investigations as officers in white suits took photos of the scene and an evidence tent was erected.
The victim, who witnesses saw being treated on the ground, was later rushed to hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries. The M.E.N understands he has since died.

Pictures and videos from the scene showed horrified onlookers watching on, as officers flooded the residential streets and taped off roads. An evidence tent was also erected on Crosshill Street with investigations continuing late into the evening.
Moss Side councillor Erinma Bell MBE has told the Manchester Evening News that the attack on the young man is a ‘great injustice’ as she urged anyone with information to come forward amid police investigations.
“I implore people to come forward with any information they may have with regards to this. That little piece you have seen or heard could bring people to justice,” she said.
“This is a great injustice. My sincere condolences go out to the families of the young men involved, it is such sad information. The police are doing everything they can with their investigations, and we are reassuring the local residents that there will be more visible policing out on the streets.”
One woman, who did not want to be named, witnessed ‘police everywhere’ and the seriously injured victim being treated on the floor by paramedics as the air ambulance was landing nearby
“I just heard the noise from the chopper at first,” she said. “So I looked out and saw the police everywhere. I could see the guy on the floor on the corner being treated by the paramedics.
“There was a lady who came out before me and she said he had been stabbed. The police asked everyone to move back. They were treating him for a long time, about 30 minutes or at least before they took him away.
“I have lived here for five years now and we haven’t had anything like this, not on this street at least. So it was a bit shocking to me. It’s a bit disturbing.”
Previously, Superintendent Muzemil Kernain of GMP’s City of Manchester district, said: “We understand that the local community will be quite rightly shocked when hearing this news and we will continue to provide a visible reassurance in the area over the coming days in the form of on-foot patrol officers, vehicle patrols and covert patrols.
“We are appealing for any information the public may have to come forward and speak to us, it will be treated with the strictest confidence, and I am particularly keen if there is any mobile phone or dashcam footage of the incident or its immediate aftermath.”
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further details.
Anyone with any information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 2280 of 4/4/24. Details can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
