There might be no surer sign that Travis Kelce has won over Taylor Swift’s dad than the sight of him wearing a Kansas City Chiefs lanyard at her Buenos Aires concert on Saturday night.
Scott Swift is a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan but clearly put that to one side as he donned some Chiefs merch at the show in Argentina. It appears that he now very much has a second team given his daughter’s new-found romance.
But it left some of the Eagles fanbase up in arms given the rivalry between the two teams and the fact the Swift family have made no secret of being Philly fans. Taylor herself has spoken openly about supporting the Eagles before but she has been to four Chiefs games this season to cheer Travis on.
And even the Swift fanbase were quick to joke that Travis and Scott might risk upsetting the older Kelce brother – Jason – who himself plays for the Eagles.
After seeing the pictures of the two men circulating on social media, one fan jokingly shared a picture of a banner outside a house that said ‘welcome home cheater’ with the caption: ‘Eagles to Scott Swift after wearing the Chiefs lanyard’.

Scott’s show of support for the Chiefs didn’t go unnoticed on social media by Eagles fans
Another said: Look my guy Scott Swift from Southeastern PA feelin a little traitorous in that chiefs lanyard after the Eagles lost to them in the superbowl not even a year ago.’
Most fans were keen to know what Jason Kelce thinks, with one saying on X: ‘Jason will have a rant ready about this!’
Another said: ‘Oh Jason’s gonna be maaaaaad’, while someone else suggested that the New Heights podcast that the Kelce brothers host is going to be spicy this week: ‘Legit can’t wait to her Jason question this on the podcast.’
Another fan noted that Scott’s show of solidarity is especially striking given that earlier this year, his Eagles team were beaten in the Super Bowl by Travis and the Chiefs just months ago.
‘The Chiefs took the Super Bowl and Taylor Swift away from the Eagles. Philly big mad,’ wrote a fan.
Another said: ‘Scott Swift must adore this man, to join in on the claps at the restaurant and now be wearing a Chiefs lanyard when his team is Eagles all the way.’
Earlier this year, Taylor herself took time at one of her shows to clarify that a line mentioned ‘Eagles’ in her song gold rush is about the NFL team and not the band.
In the song from the record ‘Evermore’, she sings: ‘I see me padding ‘cross your wooden floors, with my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door’.

Donna Kelce might have to make another 50-50 jersey when the Chiefs play Eagles on Nov. 20
At her Philadelphia show on the Eras tour this year, Swift said: ‘I don’t know how large the debate was, but I did see the debate. I have a lyric that says, ‘With my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door.’
‘I saw some people wondering if it was the band the Eagles or the team the Eagles, and I love the band the Eagles, but guys, come on. I’m from Philly. Of course it’s the team.’
Both Taylor and her dad with have their loyalties tested when Travis is back in NFL action on November 20 as the Chiefs play the Eagles at Arrowhead Stadium.
But Travis and Jason’s mom Donna might be able to help.
When her sons met in the Super Bowl in February, she wore a half-and-half jersey to cheer them both on equally before the Chiefs beat the Eagles 38-35.
