Succession Season 3 Episode 6: Logan and the Roy family decide who to back for President

After the tense shareholders meeting in last week’s episode, the Roy family is moving on to matters of politics, as they decide who to back for the next President of the United States of America in Sunday night’s new episode of Succession.

The new episode, entitled What It Takes, follows Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and the rest of his family heading to Virginia for a conservative political conference, where Tom Wambsgans (Matthew McFadyen) tells Greg (Nicholas Braun) in the preview that this is where they’ll, ‘decide the next President.’ 

The preview for this episode also teased Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong) and his lawyer Lisa Arthur (Sanaa Lathan) testifying about his family’s illegal dealings in a sworn deposition, while Connor Roy (Alan Ruck) still isn’t giving up his dream of becoming the President of the United States, despite long odds in his favor.

He asks who is taking over for Logan but Roman says that’s not happening anymore and he says, ‘That’s right. Stick to the lie.’

Tom confesses that he hasn’t slept in eight days and Greg asks if he could hang his ‘corporate wrongdoings’ on him.

Tom agrees and Greg says that’s incredibly kind of him and asks to pay for dinner but Tom says he has it covered, since his meals will all be free from now on.

Logan runs into Dave, who wants to talk about controlling tech and Dave says he likes him and wants him to push him over the brink.

Greg is telling some people about his lawsuit against Greenpeace because he thinks they defamed his character.

Another candidate approaches Shiv with an offer of sending her dad up the river and make her the CEO.
