Subtle lung cancer symptom on your fingers and other early signs

Experts have previously warned that subtle changes to your fingers could be an indication of lung cancer.

Swollen or fatter-looking fingers, particularly if the ends appear enlarged, could be a sign to look out for. The skin next to the fingernail may also become shinier than usual and nails could start to curve downwards like a spoon, rather than being typically smooth.




It’s reported that around 80% of people with clubbed fingers have lung cancer. Other less common symptoms include arm or shoulder pain, eye problems, balance issues and swelling of the neck, arms or upper chest.

Last year, research showed that just over a third of people get their lungs checked when invited by the NHS, as reported by The Mirror. Lung cancer doesn’t always cause symptoms until it starts to spread.
