Strictly dancer Chloe Hewitt announced her engagement to long-term boyfriend George Betts as she took to Instagram to share the happy news.
The professional dancer joined the show in 2016 alongside fellow newbie and ex-dance partner AJ Pritchard, however she only lasted two series before she left in 2018.
Taking to Instagram earlier this week to share the news, Chloe, 28, beamed in snaps as she showed off her diamond engagement ring after a romantic proposal in Abersoch, Wales.
Revealing that her boyfriend popped the question on March 24, she wrote: ‘Still taking this all in … WE’RE ENGAGED’.
Chloe couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as she posed on the beach pointing at the new addition to her hand as tributes from her fellow Strictly professionals poured in.
Dianne Buswell wrote: ‘Awww so happy for you’, and Katya Jones posted: ‘Ahhhh Chloe!!! Massive congratulations!’
Kai Widdrington also sent his love as he penned: ‘Congratulations So happy for you two,’ Janette Manrara wrote: ‘Aghhhhh!! Congratulations!!! Such beautiful news!’ and Joanne Clifton added: ‘Congratulations!!!’
Strictly judge Anton Du Beke also sent a congratulations meme and Amy Dowden penned: Argh congratulations so happy for you Chlo xxxx’.
Meanwhile Chloe’s former dance partner AJ Pritchard dedicated a whole post to the star’s engagement as he shared a fun clip of the pair performing the quickstep in rehearsals.
He captioned the video: ‘Congratulations @chloehewitt27 on getting Engaged… this is not an April Fools… & Here’s some Quickstep, messing around in the studio,’ as Chloe replied: ‘Haha love this.. thank you’.
Chloe and AJ shot to fame when they appeared together on Britain’s Got Talent’s seventh season, reaching the the semi-final in 2013.
The pair were National Youth Latin champions three straight years from 2012 to 2014.
While AJ received celebrity partners during all four of his series on Strictly, Chloe was never paired with a novice and instead performed as part of the group numbers.
During his time on the show, AJ made it to fourth place with Olympic gymnast Claudia Fragapane and fifth place twice with Saturdays singer Mollie King and Paralympic athlete Laura Steadman.
In 2019 he was partnered with YouTuber Saffron Barker, the pair were eliminated in week 10, marking the only year AJ didn’t make it to the final.
It was announced in May 2018 that Chloe wouldn’t be returning to the BBC show.
The BBC said at the time: ‘The Strictly team would like to thank [her for her] considerable contribution to the show and wish [her] the very best for the future.’
Louise Rainbow, Executive Producer for the show said: ‘We would like to thank Chloe and wish her well.’
