SAMSUNG has revealed exactly how to unlock its fastest charging tech on your Galaxy phone.
The company’s smartphones support fast (and even super-fast) charging – if you’ve got the right kit.

If you’re constantly struggling to get your Samsung Galaxy phone powered up in time, it can be a real pain.
Thankfully newer Samsung models support speedy charging.
Before you get started, make sure that your phone is updated to the latest software version.
To do that, just go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
Then you’ll want to make sure that you’ve got the fast-charging features set up to activate automatically.
Go to Settings > Battery and Device Care.
Then tap on Battery > More Battery Settings, and toggle the switch on for the following features:
- Fast charging
- Super fast charging
- Fast wireless charging
Then you’ll be able to get started, assuming you’ve got the right charging set-up.
FAST WIRELESS CHARGING
For fast wireless charging, you’ll need a dedicated wireless charging pad that supports the feature – so look out for one of two numbers.
If you’ve got a Samsung Galaxy S22, S23, or later, then Samsung recommends using a 25W charger with a “genuine Samsung adapter”.
And if you’ve got the S22+, S23+, S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, or later, you’ll want to be using a 45W charger.
This will give you sufficient power to unlock the speedy wireless charging.

Here’s Samsung’s official advice…
To get the most out of your smartphone’s battery, you’ll need to charge it properly.
Most Smartphones have a lithium-ion battery that lives longer when charged regularly.
Unlike the nickel batteries used in older phones, lithium-ion batteries do best when kept above a 50 percent charge.
Repeatedly allowing the battery to drain fully may shorten its life and decrease its overall capacity.
If this happens, you’ll need to charge the battery more frequently and it may last only a few hours before needing a charge, for example.
Leaving the phone connected to the charger (when the phone is completely charged) while you are using it may lower battery life if you do it repeatedly.
Samsung explains: “To use the super fast charging feature, use a USB PD (Power Delivery) charger that supports ‘Super fast charging’.
“It is recommended to use a 25W charger for S22/S23 (battery capacity 3700mAh).
“And a 45W charger for the Galaxy S22+/S23+ and Galaxy S22/S23 Ultra (battery capacity 4500-5000mAh).”
Of course there are some problems you might run into.

If you don’t have sufficient charger power then it won’t activate Fast or Super Fast charging.
It also won’t be activated if you’re just using a standard battery charger.
And Samsung warns that the feature might not work if you don’t use one of the company’s official approved adapters.
Samsung notes that you should be able to charge your battery even faster if you have the device switched off.

Or at the very least, keep the screen turned off for a charging boost.
Additionally, Samsung warns: “If the device heats up or the ambient air temperature rises, the charging speed may decrease automatically.
“This is a normal operating condition to prevent damage to the device.”
