Samsung unleashed an incredible £400 saving across its flagship smartphones — dropping the Galaxy S24, S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra to their lowest ever prices. Combined with an existing trade-in deal, Samsung fans could upgrade to the Galaxy S24 models for 50% off the usual price!
The ludicrously low price tags, starting from just £399, were supposed to be sticking around until June 4, 2024 …or until stocks last. With one week of the sale still remaining, the best Galaxy S24 dealand best Galaxy S24 Ultra dealwe’ve ever seen have vanished from the Samsung store, suggesting stock has already run out.
Given the unprecedented discount on Android phones that launched a few months ago, it’s not surprising.
Fortunately, it’s still possible to enjoy the £400 discount on the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5. Both of these foldable phones were launched last year with larger cover screens, more durable glass, and speedier chipsets.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 handsets are selling fast in the sale …as sale stock of the Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra has already sold-out in the blockbuster £400 summer discount
SAMSUNG STORE
Samsung offers free delivery across the UK, as well as a range of 0% APR repayment plans too.
But the £400 discount isn’t exclusive to the Samsung Store, with retailers like Currys, Amazon, and AO.com also taking part in the sale and dropping prices across the Galaxy S24, S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip5, and Z Fold5.
Sadly, the extra discount from trade-in will not apply to these other stores, but if you’ve haven’t got a phone that you’re willing to part with, there’s no reason to specifically shop from Samsung.
Prime members will benefit from next-day delivery nationwide at no extra cost on Amazon and Currys and Argos offer same-day collection in some areas — both good reasons to shop at these particular stores over Samsung.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 last summer in its hometown of Seoul, South Korea. The biggest changes come to the Z Flip5, which boasts a dramatically expanded Cover Screen, now measuring 3.4 inches. With this additional screen real estate, Samsung offers a truckload of new customisation options, including dynamic new background, clock faces, and rich notifications. Everything can be matched to faces on the latest Galaxy Watch for some pleasing symmetry between gadgets.
Both Galaxy Z Flip5 and Fold5 have a redesigned hinge mechanism that’s much thinner than previous iterations, slimming down both handsets when they’re folded away.
Despite this svelte new profile, Samsung still fitted both devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy – a customised version of the chipset designed specifically for Samsung devices. That’s the same silicon inside the powerhouse Galaxy S23 Ultra launched last year too.
There’s a new slimmer S Pen stylus for the Galaxy Z Fold5, brighter AMOLED displays, IPX8 water resistance to save your handset from accidental splashes, and more.
As for the (now sold-out) Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra, these handsets were unveiled more recently. Samsung announced the entire S24 range back in mid-January, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), clever new camera features, and a titanium frame. All three handsets arrive with a faster processor, bigger batteries, and a guaranteed seven years of Android upgrades.
Unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is undoubtedly the headline feature of all three new Galaxy S phones from Samsung. Dubbed Galaxy AI, the clever new software can translate incoming phone calls in real-time, write text messages for you, summarise lengthy notes into bullet points, move the subject of a photo and erase unwanted people from the background.
Samsung has partnered with Google to launch a new way to gesture-driven way to search online — Circle To Search.
You’ll be able to buy the Galaxy S24 and S24+ in the standard selection of four colours, or an additional three exclusive colourways
SAMSUNG PRESS OFFICE
As the name suggests, this allows Galaxy S24 owners to long-press on the home button and circle anything on-screen to kickstart a Google search. For example, you can circle the city skyline in the background of an Instagram post to find the location, circle a book cover to get shopping results or circle an unknown actor in a Netflix show to find their IMDb page.
Some of these AI tricks are reminiscent of Microsoft’s CoPilot Pro subscription, which costs £19 a month to use across Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel on Windows, Mac, and iPad.
All three models of the Galaxy S24 arrive with Android 14 out of the box and guaranteed updates until the early 2030s. Until now, Samsung only guaranteed four years of updates with its flagship Galaxy S series.
Galaxy S24 Ultra follows in the footsteps of the iPhone 15 Pro and uses a titanium frame, which Samsung says will enhance durability. It’s also the brightest screen we’ve seen on a Galaxy smartphone, topping out at 2,600-nits, which should make everything easily visible on-screen even when outside on the brightest summer day.
