The Prime Minister paid a flying visit through our area today – and it got people talking. Locals spotted ‘lots of blue lights’ and ‘secret’ Range Rovers in Nuneaton today as Rishi Sunak travelled through.
A cavalcade of cars as well as motorcycles was clocked in Coventry Road earlier on today, Tuesday, May 28. Curious people took to social media to ask about other sightings of the ‘secret’ Range Rovers.
The large police presence was also seen making its way through other parts of town. It is understood to have been the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, although it was not on an official visit. That instead came after he called into nearby Hinckley, including Market Bosworth.

He visited Dr Luke Evans, the town’s MP, at Market Bosworth Bowls Club. But disappointingly his trip to the other side of the A5 did not include a pit-stop off in Nuneaton or Bedworth – two seats he will be hoping the Conservatives can retain in the forthcoming General Election.
The borough is no stranger to welcoming political heavyweights in the run up to the nation going to the polls. David Cameron made several visits to Nuneaton including in 2016.
