Richard Madeley announced he was marking a big milestone with his wife Judy Finnigan on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday.
The TV presenter, 67, opened the show by revealing to his co-host Susanna Reid that it was his 37th wedding anniversary with his wife Judy, 75.
He shared that they have been living together for a total of 40 years, including their relationship before they tied the knot, as he gushed over the milestone.
Announcing the news, Richard said: ‘I can’t believe it actually… because it seems about 15 years but yeah it’s my 37th wedding anniversary!’
To which his co-host Susanna, 52, replied: ‘Wow, congratulations Richard and Judy!’
Richard added: ‘Actually, because we were together a few years before that, it’s actually sort of 40 years of being under the same roof, which is just ridiculous!’
Susanna then joked: ‘Long service medals all round… or just for Judy!’, with Richard adding: ‘I think just for Judy, yeah!’
Richard then gave an insight into how he plans to celebrate the special occasion with Judy.
He said: ‘[We’re] going to a posh dinner, thank you very much!’
Richard and Judy tied the knot on November 21, 1986, and have since welcomed children Jack, 37, and Chloe, 36, together. Judy also has twins Dan and Tom, 36, with her ex husband, David Henshaw.
It comes after Richard accidentally referred to his daughter Chloe’s ex James Haskell as his son-in-law live on Good Morning Britain after the couple’s recent split.
Personal trainer Chloe recently issued a joint statement with former rugby player James, 38, confirming that their separation was amicable and would remain so for the sake of their 15-month old daughter, Bodhi.
But Richard referred to him as his son-in-law while talking about him on Monday’s GMB during a chat about the new series of I’m A Celebrity, which began on Sunday.
He said of James starring on the show in 2019 and his changing popularity: ‘It is early days, I remember when my son in law James Haskell was in the Jungle doing really well and riding high in the polls and then he lost it.
‘He got into a massive row in camp, blew his stack and that was that!’
Chloe revealed her hopes for ‘a big family’ but admitted that she’s not ready to date again last week.
Inviting her Instagram followers to ask her questions, she shared some responses to her Story.
When one fan asked if she would like more children in the future, the TV personality replied: ‘I have a big family and want to keep it that way.’
Another person questioned: ‘Are you looking forward to dating or dreading it?’
Sharing a photo from a recent girls night out, Chloe admitted: ‘I want to be and will continue to be surrounded by females for the foreseeable.’
Recently Chloe spoke publicly for the first time about her separation from husband James, weeks after the couple confirmed their marriage was over.
Speaking to social media followers this week, she reflected on the end of their five-year marriage after the subject was broached by a fan.
After being asked whether ‘there was a chance’ they would get back together, she wrote: ‘James and I are not together anymore but we are determined to be the absolute best parents we can be to our amazing little girl.’
The Q&A came after James was spotted partying in Ibiza with a lookalike of Chloe only weeks before announcing their marriage split.
The former England rugby player was pictured with Chloe McLennan in the summer while sharing a booth at Ibiza’s Ocean Beach Club.
According to a source for The Sun, Ms McLennan, also known as DJ Loeca, shared some advice on the industry with James.
The source revealed that people knew James’ career change took a toll on his marriage because he was often away from home, saying: ‘James and Chloe got to know each other on the DJ circuit in Ibiza.
‘It’s no secret that James’s new career choice took its toll on his relationship and caused arguments at home.’
The added: ‘He was away a lot, forging his new brand, while she was in the UK being a mum to their 13-month-old daughter.’
The former couple confirmed their separation in a joint statement released last month after appearing in public without their wedding rings.
