Richard Hermer KC appointed as Attorney General

Congratulations to Richard Hermer KC who has been appointed as Attorney General with immediate effect.

Richard was called to the Bar in 1993 and took Silk in 2009. Richard is a Deputy High Court Judge assigned to the King’s Bench Division and the Administrative Court. In 2000, he was appointed the inaugural Human Rights Practitioner in Residence at Columbia University, New York. Richard is best known for his ground-breaking work in both public and private law matters, domestically and internationally.  He has acted for a wide range of clients, and has appeared in a number of the landmark cases in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
