A Kent seaside town has been named as one of the best places to visit in the UK.
Ramsgate on the Isle of Thanet, is number 11 out of 15 in a list compiled by the lifestyle magazine Time Out, beating the likes of Norwich and Wrexham.
The publication, which ranked the best places to visit in the UK in 2024, said: “Another neighbour has joined Kent’s roster of cosy, culture-filled seaside towns that everyone’s getting obsessed with.
“Enter Ramsgate, a walkable gem with a hell of a lot of character.”
Foodie spots such as Catch and The Modern Boulangerie, and the Royal Brasserie pub got a mention as the town’s high points.

Ramsgate, known for its coastline and marina, is the only Kent destination on the list, with judges looking at the dining, drinking, arts and events scenes.
Bristol topped the list, followed by Hull and the Isles of Scilly.
Chiara Wilkinson, features editor at Time Out UK said: “We’re over the moon to share our Time Out list of the best places to visit in the UK in 2024.
“These destinations have buzzy new openings, excellent food and drink offerings and pinch-me-moment landscapes.
It comes just about a year since nearby Cliftonville in Margate was named the 8th coolest town in the world by the magazine.
The decision was controversial with locals, as Cliftonville West is the fourth most deprived ward in the whole of the UK.
