The highly anticipated upcoming full-blown remake of video game classic “Silent Hill 2” is set to feature an origin story for the franchise’s most distinct creation – Pyramid Head.
“Layers of Fear” developers Bloober Team are behind the remake which is expected to be a faithful recreation of the original’s story and characters with some modernisation of the graphics, gameplay and design.
It was previously revealed that the biggest visible change is the adoption of an over-the-shoulder camera – which meant an overhaul to the combat system.
Another, however, is seemingly a new backstory for the mysterious villain and how he became the monstrous haunting figure we know today.
The reveal reportedly comes from a new Best Buy pre-order description of the game which says: “Fan favourite character, Pyramid Head, makes a return along with a special origin story for fans to play through.”
All indications are the game will be coming sometime soon but a specific release date has yet to be announced. At this point an early 2024 is looking likely.
