Preview: Nottingham Forest – Emirates FA Cup (A)

Bristol City make the trip to face Nottingham Forest in the Emirates FA Cup Fourth round replay on Wednesday, February 7th (7:45pm). The two sides met less than a fortnight ago and played out an entertaining draw with neither side capitalising on their chances.

Liam Manning’s side have since earned a draw away at Coventry City and suffered defeat at home to Leeds United. Wednesday evening’s hosts have had a similar run of results with a draw at Bournemouth and defeat to Arsenal.

OUR OPPONENTS: Nottingham Forest

Nuno Espírito Santo has been in charge at the City Ground since December 2023. Since his appointment Nottingham Forest have beaten Newcastle United and Manchester United and progressed to the Fourth Round.

Forest had gone 14 games without a win before Santo’s arrival and although they are still only four points from danger, the re-energised side have more confidence and energy than ever.

Premier League survival will be Forest’s main priority for the remainder of the season, but Cup success will certainly be a bonus.

Nottingham Forest have made many signings in the last couple of seasons, especially under Steve Cooper. Their squad was strengthened earlier in the season by the arrival of Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Matt Turner both of whom have had a big impact at City Ground.

Progressing through the England youth system, earning caps at Under-16 to Under-21 level, Gareth Southgate awarded him his full Lions debut in March of 2019 at just 18-years old.
