A major road is closed in both directions as police investigate an incident.
Merseyside Police were called to Pilch Lane in Dovecot at 9.07pm on Tuesday, November 14, following reports of an incident on the road. It was initially believed a man was hit by an ambulance, but once police investigated they found this was not the case.
The road was closed in both directions for almost two hours as police made enquiries on the road. It was reported at least half a dozen emergency services vehicles were seen on the road.

Merseyside Police confirmed a man was taken to hospital following concerns for his safety. It’s understood the man involved suffered a head injury.
Merseyside Police has confirmed the incident has concluded, but emergency service vehicles remain in the area.
