A PlayStation dev has confirmed several Red Dead Redemption 2 features will return for GTA VI, and we couldn’t be more excited.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is of course one of, if not the, best open world games of all time. It boasted such an impressive amount of detail that it made almost every open world that followed look inferior in comparison. Next year though it’ll likely be surpassed by GTA VI, which is shaping to be well-worth the wait especially if the latest leaks and rumours are to be believed.

According to a PlayStation dev, GTA VI will steal several features from Red Dead Redemption 2.
This includes the Eagle Eye, an ability the player could use to identify various objects and people in the world, as well as a useful tool for tracking animals during hunting trips. It’s unknown if hunting will be a big part of the game, though there’s also rumoured to be a fishing minigame so perhaps the Eagle Eye could come into play during that. Maybe we’ll hunt down a bunch of rampaging crocodiles/alligators instead?
That’s not the only Red Dead Redemption 2 feature making its way into the game either. According to the same leaker, Rockstar will be bringing back the NPC interaction system as well. To be fair, you could somewhat react to NPCs in GTA V, though Red Dead Redemption 2 provided more options to make the open world feel that little bit more immersive. Players will likely be able to interact with various NPCs wandering the streets of Vice City, perhaps even some of the crazy ones like hammer-lady.
Other inside information was shared, but the one thing that was obviously still missing is a release date. We’re still none the wiser as to when Rockstar plans to launch the game, apart from a very vague 2025 release window.
That being said, all the new details we’re learning certainly point to GTA VI being worth the wait, and we can’t wait to see what else will be included in the game when it launches next year.
