A person has been hit by a train.
According to the Merseyrail website, “major disruption” is affecting the Southport and Hunts Cross lines.
The site reads: “Due to a person being hit by a train at Aigburth the Hunts Cross line is disrupted. Disruption is expected until 13:00 23/05. Train services to Hunts Cross will be terminated at and started back from Liverpool Cntrl Northern.”
A rail replacement bus service has been requested to run between Moorfields and Hunts Cross.

Due to unrelated incidents, the Chester and Ellesmere Port lines are also seeing “major disruption”.
The ECHO has approached British Transport Police for more information on the Aigburth incident.
