Police have sealed off pavement near a row of homes in Perry Barr on one Birmingham’s busiest commuter routes. The police cordon is currently in place in Walsall Road, opposite Tower Hill Medical Practice.
A number of police vehicles were spotted at the scene. Officers were pictured carrying out enquires.
The exact nature of the incident is not yet clear. We have contacted West Midlands Police for comment.

Our reporter at the scene said: “There’s is a police incident ongoing on Walsall Road, Perry Barr, this morning. The site is opposite the Tower Hill Surgery.
“There is police tape across a section of houses and pavement, with forensics examining a home. We have contacted West Midlands Police and will bring you their statement shortly.”

‘I thought a car was backfiring’
Another resident said they heard a loud noise in the early hours of this morning which they thought was a car backfiring.
They told us: “About 1.30am to 1.45am – I thought it was a car backfiring so I thought nothing of it.
“I woke up this morning and it was all cordoned off. This is scaring me and I’m moving away from here.”
