NVIDIA RTX 40 SUPER gets first CUDA core spec rumors

Initial specs for RTX 40 SUPER from ‘several weeks’ ago. 

This week has been filled with a surge of RTX 40 SUPER speculations, culminating in detailed specifications shared by a prominent NVIDIA insider, Kopite7kimi. The disclosed information includes the CUDA core details and potential GPU models for the various RTX 40 SUPER cards that have been the subject of discussion this month.

According to Kopite’s tweet, the RTX 4080 SUPER is expected to feature the full AD103-300 GPU, boasting 10,240 CUDA cores. While specifics regarding the memory configuration remain unspecified, it’s worth noting that the AD103 GPU implies a 256-bit memory bus. It appears improbable to achieve 20GB specifications without reducing the memory bus to 160 bits, although Kopite has refrained from confirming the memory details and the speed of this SUPER upgrade.

The specifications for the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and RTX 4070 SUPER have also been disclosed. The former, although scarcely discussed due to its somewhat perplexing name (combining “Ti” and “SUPER”), may be subject to naming inaccuracies given the age of this spec leak, which spans several weeks. Nonetheless, this particular model is projected to feature 8,448 CUDA cores and potentially deploy two GPU variations, either the AD103-275 or a significantly cut-down AD102-175.

In the case of the RTX 4070 SUPER, it represents a modest specification adjustment when compared to the RTX 4070 Ti, with a reduction in CUDA core count to 7,168. Like the previously mentioned SKU, this variant could also include two GPU alternatives, either the AD104-350 or the AD103-175.

It’s worth mentioning that these specifications have not seen any recent updates, which raises the possibility that some SKUs on this list may have been shelved. NVIDIA, to date, has not unveiled any fresh specifications to its board partners, and the expectation of any major releases for this year is relatively low. However, it is evident that an update is on the horizon, potentially involving one to three models.
