A man who died in a crash on A60 Huntingdon Street has been named. Oshada Jayasudera, aged 31, died at the scene after being hit by a car that was being pursued by police in Nottingham city centre, on Wednesday, December 13, shortly after 3am.
Mr Jayasudera was from Sri Lanka and studied Project Management at Nottingham Trent University. He was treated by paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sri Lankan publication Sunday Island Online reports that Mr Jayasudera had been living in Nottingham for just three months. The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Rohitha Bogollagama, is said to be working with authorities and Mr Jayasudera’s parents to ensure his body is repatriated as soon as possible.

Mr Jayasudera was a highly qualified and experienced project manager. On Monday he shared that he had completed a course on LinkedIn. Underneath a Sri Lankan politician wrote: “Very sad to hear what happened soon after. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
Joshua Gregory, 27, of Westfield Road in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, has since been charged with four offences in connection with the investigation. These include causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving whilst uninsured, failure to stop after a road accident, and failure to provide a specimen for analysis.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Friday, December 15. Nottinghamshire Police has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, the police watchdog, following the incident.
Road closures in the area were in place for much of Wednesday as investigations were carried out.
