Authorities Tuesday announced nine recent arrests in connection with ongoing investigations into Southland flash mob retail crimes.
On Sept. 14, detectives targeted a business in the 3700 block of Crenshaw Boulevard “in an attempt to resolve theft incidents,” the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Detectives made nine arrests as follows:
— two for felony “organized retail theft crew”;
— one for an outstanding felony arrest warrant;
— four “repeat offenders” for shoplifting; and
— two for burglary.
“From the two arrests related to organized retail theft alone, Southwest Burglary Detectives recovered over-the-counter pharmaceutical stolen products from two businesses from within the U-Haul the suspects were using,” police said in a statement.
“In addition, they recovered 37 grams of methamphetamine and U.S. currency that was obtained through the illegal sales of the over-the-counter pharmaceuticals,” police said.
