Nina Dobrev reveals her ‘surgery was a success’ as she flashes a thumbs up from her bed after being hospitalized in the wake of serious e-bike crash

Nina Dobrev looked as if she was on the road to recovery when she revealed that her surgery to repair damage from a devastating bike crash was a ‘success.’

The 35-year-old Vampire Diaries star flashed a thumbs up in a photo taken from what looked like a hospital operating room as she lie down while dressed in a hospital gown and covered in blankets. 

She flashed a soft smile for the camera and thanked her support friends and fans in her caption.

Last month, Nina shared a photo of herself in a neck brace to reveal that she had been involved in a crash, but she has shared few details about what exactly happened or how she was injured. 

Nina got plenty of supportive comments from her famous friends, including from her boyfriend Shaun White, who wrote, ‘WE ALL LOVE YOU.’

‘Surgery was a success,’ Nina wrote. ‘Thank you to everyone who has been sending kind messages, thoughts, prayers, and good vibes. I have been feeling the support and positive energy. It means more than you will ever know ❤️‍.’

She included a second closeup selfie showing herself looking worn out as she stared into the camera from her hospital bed.

Among those checking in on her in the comments was the Dancing With The Stars pro Sasha Farber.

‘Good luck!!! U will be dancing before you know it!!’ 

Nina replied, ‘promise????’ while adding a tearful emoji.

The fashion designer Rachel Zoe added: ‘Sending all the love and healing Nina!!’

Earlier, in her Instagram stories, Nina posted a photo of herself pouting and striking a thumbs-down pose. 

‘Anyone else get scared before surgery? I’m such a baby when it comes to needles, blood or procedures of any kind,’ she wrote.

Another photo showed her in bed with her left left sticking out from under the covers. 

‘Had to get one last photo of my leg — pristine — before it’s all scarred up,’ she wrote.

A final self-shot video featured her leaning forward to write ‘Yes’ with an arrow on her affected knee in purple marker.

‘Fun fact: they make you draw on whatever extremity is being operated on to confirm that is the correct limb,’ she explained. ‘(Because I guess it’s happened in the past that some surgeons have accidentally operated on the wrong limb.) Yikes!!!’

The Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev has been hospitalized after a serious accident on her e-bike. 

The 35-year-old shared a photo of herself sprawled out in a hospital bed with a cast on her knee and a neck brace.

She also posted a photo of herself posing happily on the bike, which seemed to have been taken shortly before the accident. 

‘How it started vs how it’s going,’ she captioned the two photos. 

She then posted a selfie from her hospital bed, before sharing a statement about the accident with her 25million followers. 

‘I’m ok but it’s going to be a long road of recovery ahead,’ she wrote, followed by a bandaged heart emoji.

Dobrev received an outpouring of support from her fans and celebrity friends, which included actress Kayla Ewell and Claire Holt, stylist Kate Young, and dancer Julianne Hough.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower actress is currently in a relationship with former professional snowboarder Shaun White.

Interestingly, White recently praised Dobrev’s adventure skills. 

‘She’s really good on the board,’ he told E! News. ‘She grew up in Canada. So, it was nice ’cause that’s definitely sometimes a relationship make-or-break. Not if they can’t ride, but I’ve had people come up with me and it didn’t end well ’cause I’m not the best coach at times.’ 

The couple first met during a brief encounter at an awards show in 2012, but they wouldn’t be formally introduced to each other until seven years later at a Florida workshop organized by motivational speaker Tony Robbins.

‘I actually didn’t know anything about her,’ White revealed to People magazine at the time.

They proceeded to start dating but didn’t go Instagram official until April 2020.

Last year, the couple bought a $4.3million midcentury modern house in Los Angeles together.

White is five-time Olympian and a three-time Olympic gold medalist in half-pipe snowboarding. 

The sports star debuted his Max docuseries Shaun White: The Last Run last July.

During the promotion of the series, he called his partner ‘incredible.’

‘She’s just been so supportive and having her in my corner for this chapter in my life where I’m retired and looking for what’s next,’ he told Extra at the time.

Along with The Vampire Diaries, Dobrev has also starred in the series Degrassi: The Next Generation.
