Nigel Farage victim of Brexit dig from campmate just moments into I’m A Celebrity debut: ‘Didn’t take long!’

Nigel Farage faced a sarcastic jibe from fellow I’m A Celeb campmate Josie Gibson within minutes of the pair being introduced Down Under.

The GB News star joined Gibson and YouTuber Nella Rose in the Australian Outback during Sunday’s premiere in order to earn time for their campmates who were competing in a task of their own 2,000 miles away on the Gold Coast.

But before the trio threw themselves into the thick of the action, Gibson and Farage had a little chat.

“I thought this was a good idea until they dropped us off in the middle of nowhere. I’ve never been so petrified,” the This Morning star said to Farage.

Trying to keep spirits high, Farage replied: “It’s something different in life, it’s an adventure! It’s a challenge, it’s not going to be easy, but why not?”

Spotting the chance to poke fun at Farage and his political history, Gibson quipped: “It can’t be worse than Brexit!”

Rose soon joined the pair and before long, they realised what they’d have to do to complete their task.

In a hilarious moment, Farage took to the driver’s seat of a nearby jeep in order to transport the trio, made all the more nerve-wracking for his fellow celebs when he remarked: “Where’s the handbrake?”

“What do you mean where’s the handbrake? We’re finished!” Rose shouted before Farage sped the three through the Outback to the challenge area.

The task the three were faced with required two people to put their heads in hell holes and one person to dunk their head into barrels to find tokens.

Gibson opted for the barrels as she told her campmates: “I’ll take one for the team, I’ll take the barrels. I don’t mind sticking my head in things that don’t belong.”

Farage and Rose were therefore left with the hell holes where they had to move stars along a wire with their tongue – all while accompanied by some unwanted guests.

“We just do it and we can move on to the next challenge,” Farage tried to reassure but Rose couldn’t complete the task after seeing snakes were in her hell hole.

Farage and Gibson meanwhile managed to bag all the stars on offer for them and earn extra time for their campmates back on the Gold Coast.

Later in the show, the trio took part in another trial to try and win more time for another three famous campmates, this time racking up seven minutes out of a possible nine.
