Victoria Beckham partied until the early hours on Saturday night as she celebrated her 50th birthday surrounded by her family and celebrity friends.
Declaring it ‘the best night ever’, the Spice Girl had to be carried out of swanky Mayfair private members’ club Oswald’s by her husband David at 2:30am.
Her recent foot injury saw the star rely on crutches for her glam entrance hours earlier, but she had her husband on hand for a piggy back as the night came to a close.
Giggling behind her heavily tinted sunglasses, Victoria was seen slumped against her family after being carried into the waiting car.
David, who will reach the same milestone next year, was without his jacket as the family made their way home.
The former Manchester United and England midfielder ferried his wife across the crowded pavement and into the back of their cab, where they were joined by all four of their children.
Swanky Mayfair private members’ club Oswald’s was the venue for what proved a decidedly elegant black tie affair tonight, with 100 guests enjoying dinner, fizz and cocktails – and dancing into the early hours.
Other guests seen leaving the upmarket venue included Victoria’s former Spice Girls bandmates Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown – who needed her own knight in shining armour for assistance as she made her way onto the street.
Even Geri Horner left with a smile, having seemingly moved on from the ‘sexting’ scandal involving her husband, Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner.
Close friends Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham later joined the exodus, followed by singer Marc Anthony and his model wife Nadia Ferreira.
Other departures included close family friends Gordon and Tana Ramsay, as well as Dave Gardner – David’s best friend and business partner.
Birthday girl Victoria was said to be delighted by the attendance of her celebrity friends, in particular her former Spice Girls band-mates.
‘It meant the world to Victoria that they were all there,’ said a friend. ‘They were a huge part of her life and they shared so much together.
‘They were special days and so of course to have them there to mark her 50th was just wonderful for her. It made everything so perfect.’
The party was just one of several celebrations to mark her half century, which fell on Wednesday.
Husband David Beckham chartered a jet to fly close family to the South of France for dinner at £200-a-head La Colombe d’Or in Saint Paul de Vence, later returning to Luton Airport.
The festivities began at 6:00pm with pre-drinks at the Beckhams’ £25million mansion in Holland Park, west London.
Victoria opted for a light green floor-length gown from her own range, while daughter Harper, 13, chose a cream camisole style dress also from her mother’s collection.
Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz all wore Dior, while David was dressed in luxury Italian brand Loro Piana.
Nicola Peltz, Brooklyn’s wife, was forced to miss the event after her grandmother suddenly fell ill and she dashed to be at her side.
Alongside photos shared on Instagram, Victoria wrote: ‘Can’t wait to celebrate with my friends and family! I love you all so much!’
There was one slight hitch: despite her best efforts, Victoria’s broken foot hadn’t healed enough for her to ditch her crutches.
But she was able to swap her moon boot for stilettos. Guests enjoyed ‘Italian inspired platters’ for starters and main courses of steak and sea bass.
No expense was spared and it is understood £3,000 bottles of Posh’s favourite Chateau Mouton Rothschild were served up, alongside £500 bottles of champagne.
Victoria was also presented with a huge birthday cake.
Her husband paid tribute to his wife of almost 25 years before all four of their children stood up to speak about their mother.
A source told The Sun ‘there wasn’t a dry eye in the house’ as they spoke about their love for the pop songstress-turned fashion designer – while also making jokes about the birthday girl.
They added: ‘David really splashed the cash. He wanted it to be extra-special for her after she always makes such an effort for everyone else.’
Music came from on trendy DJ collective Hale Zero, with guests taking to the dancefloor in their droves.
On the guest list were the Beckhams’ best friends Gordon and Tana Ramsay, Jason Statham and wife Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, plus Guy Ritchie and dancer Marc Anthony who jetted in from Miami.
Others included former Vogue editor Edward Enninful and Victoria’s hairdresser Ken Paves, who did her hair for her big night.
David’s best friend David Gardner also made appearance, as did his former Manchester United team mate Gary Neville, with his wife Emma.
Actress Salma Hayek also glammed up for the night.
Tom Cruise’s attendance took many of the guests by surprise, though he made something of an entrance by bumping into a photographer, causing the man to fall over.
His estranged daughter Suri was pictured in New York City last week as she celebrated her 18th birthday.
She was seen holding a birthday present with a friend, while her Scientologist father filmed the latest Mission: Impossible, 3,500 miles away in Britain.
One friend of Victoria said: ‘She has been excited about this for weeks and weeks.
‘To have all of those people in the same room was perfect.’
Victoria Beckham looked sensational as she arrived at her star-studded 50th birthday bash at private members club Oswald’s in London on Saturday evening.
The fashion designer stunned in a semi-sheer floor-length green gown as she hobbled into the venue on crutches, following a gym injury, and prepared to celebrate the milestone with a string of her A-list pals.
Alongside husband David, 48, and their family, guests included Tom Cruise, Eva Longoria as well as former bandmate Geri Horner who attended solo after standing by under-fire husband Christian.
Birthday Girl Victoria’s elegant sleeveless dress was featured ruffles at the waist and decorative floral detail to the side.
She kept her accessorises to a minimum and let the gown speak or itself, forgoing a necklace and opting instead for diamond bracelets on both wrists.
Meanwhile Geri, 51, who’s other half was recently cleared of wrongdoing amid a ‘sexting scandal’ stunned in a white strapless beaded cocktail dress.
The outfit boasted jewel encrusted bows and she completed the look with a matching wrap and clutch.
Meanwhile footballing legend David looked dashing in a black dinner suit which he wore with a matching bow tie and white shirt.
He arrived alongside the couple’s daughter Harper, 12, who followed in her mother’s stylish footsteps as she wore an elegant white satin dress with spaghetti straps and open-toed shoes in the same colour.
Middle son Romeo, 21, wore a suit to match his famous father, as did his older brother Brooklyn, 25.
While Cruz, 19, donned a cream dinner suit which he teamed with a black bow tie and a pair of black and white brogue shoes.
The aspiring pop star completed his look with a pair of light brown braces and posed casually with his hand in his pockets.
Victoria has chosen one of her favourite London hotspots, the Private Members’ club, to celebrate her 50th birthday, which was on Wednesday 17 April.
Oswald’s has long been a favourite for the Beckham brood, with David and Victoria pictured leaving the swanky eatery on many occasions.
Given their vast celebrity circle of pals, including Gordon Ramsay and Eva Longoria, no doubt Victoria’s guest list will be a who’s who of big names, heading to the venue for an intimate celebration.
Oswald’s is certainly credited for its discretion, with no social media presence, and even its website offers little insight into what guests can expect when they step through the unassuming front door.
The club’s interior is no doubt inspired by The Gilded Age, with chandeliers, columns and red upholstered chairs, while a mantlepiece is adorned with roses and greenery, changed twice a week, according to Tatler.
Upstairs’ the restaurant, where Victoria and her pals will dine in luxury to mark her birthday, boasts a stairwell lined with framed posters, paintings and dog portraits.
The restaurant itself boasts a colourful aesthetic, with patterned upholstered chairs, bold ceramics on the walls, and velvet Ikat cushions.
The South African-inspired menu and tequila cocktails are a favourite among guests, and Victoria will likely indulge in one of her few vices, a glass of wine or two.
A source previously told The Mail last week that Victoria is delighted that she will be joined by all four of her children, including son Brooklyn, for her celebration.
They said: ‘It will be a small, intimate, family gathering, and it is literally the best present that she could have.
‘It will be close to their London home. David has pulled a few surprises but what Victoria really wants is to be surrounded by her loved ones.
‘The kids are staying for a few days, which Victoria loves, and they will all join her at her posh dinner on Saturday night.’
The family will be joined by a group of close friends for this. While the guest list will be selective, it’s thought to include some ‘well known names’ including her best friend Tana Ramsay and her husband Gordon.
As recently as last month, Brooklyn Beckham celebrated his 25th birthday with dinner at the establishment, joined by wife Nicola Peltz and her parents.
As they left the establishment, David was spotted slipping the doorman a £20 tip by way of thanks, as they made their way home after dinner.
In 2020, David also enjoyed a night out at the club, joined by pals including Dave Gardner and Jack Whitehall.
Compared to some historic stalwarts, Oswald’s is a new addition to London’s private members club landscape, but has become a favourite for global stars visiting the capital.
The club is owned by British entrepreneur Robin Birley, who also owns and runs 5 Hertford Street, nearby – where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly had their first date.
It’s significant that Birley himself chooses to spend his evenings at Oswald’s, welcoming guests personally in the company of pet dog Peg , or holding court with friends.
Opened in 2018, the private members club is named after Robin Birley’s grandfather, Sir Oswald, a royal portraitist. His late grandfather’s photo hangs proudly behind the reception desk, according to Tatler.
There aren’t many venues that could mention Boris and Carrie Johnson, several other major Conservative Party figures, the Queen and Tom Cruise in the same breath, but they are among those to have dined in style at the hushed-up restaurant.
Cruise joined Beyonce and Jay-Z, as well as actor Henry Cavill, for dinner here last month – with Cruise’s patient dealings with fans irritating taxi drivers.
Elton John and his husband David Furnish enjoyed a festive dinner at Oswald’s earlier this month, while Liz Hurley has been snapped here on a night out, as have Dame Joan Collins, Michael Caine and Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka.
Oswald’s attracts royalty of all kinds, too: from Queen Camilla, who joined a family party last month, to the Queen of Pop, Madonna, pictured at the venue last year.
