- Several members of her team were rushed to hospital
- The singer was not on board at the time of the accident
Several members of Shania Twain’s touring crew have been rushed to hospital following a horror tour bus crash in Canada.
The accident occurred shortly after 7am Wednesday on Highway 1 near Wolseley, Saskatchewan, with a total of 13 people treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The tour bus and a truck both rolled over off the road, and images of the crash showed significant damage to the tour bus on the side of an icy highway.
The ‘Man, I Feel Like a Woman’ singer was not on board at the time of the crash.
Tour bus operator Beat The Street owner Joerg Philipp said on Instagram that his company’s vehicles were involved in the crash, which he claimed was caused by ‘black ice on the roadway.’
Twain’s crew were on the road as part of her ‘Queen of Me’ tour, and her representatives Maverick Management told CTV News after the accident that both vehicles involved in the crash were part of the tour.
‘Members of the production crew who require medical attention have been taken to nearby hospitals,’ the statement read.
‘We are incredibly thankful to the emergency services teams for their quick response and ongoing support.’
‘We ask for patience as we look after our touring family.’
Twain was scheduled to play her next show in Saskatoon on Thursday, around 200 miles from Wolseley, although it is unclear if this will be cancelled.
In the statement confirming his tour bus company was involved, Philip said he was ‘devastated’ over the accident.
‘The incident took place on the Trans-Canadian Highway near Wolseley, SK,’ he wrote.
‘All the passengers and driver are being evaluated for injuries and were immediately attended to by emergency responders and transported to the hospital for further treatment as needed.
‘The Beat The Street USA Team is cooperating with local authorities to respond to this incident.
‘Our top priority is the health and well-being of our passengers.’
