This is the moment a mouse was spotted scurrying around near an entrance to the Trafford Centre’s busy food hall at Christmas.
A teenager filmed the rodent on a mobile phone and says they have reported the sighting to the shopping mall’s management team.
The teen was shopping with their parents on Boxing Day when they saw the mouse.

In the footage, passed to the Manchester Evening News, the small rodent can be seen near what appears to be an air vent on a wooden walkway leading to the food hall’s tables and chairs and the dining area.
It’s on the ground below a sign reading ‘This is a self-clear area. Please use the bins provided. Thank you.”
The Trafford Centre said in response it would investigate any reports like it raised, adding in a statement today that ‘occurrences like this are rare’.
The teenager, from Rochdale, said they returned to the Trafford Centre on New Year’s Eve and reported the sighting via a customer complaint form.
The teen, who doesn’t want to be identified, said: “I was there with my mum and dad just shopping around for the Boxing Day sales really.
“The footage was taken in the food hall before it opened for the day. I think it opened at around 11am. We were just walking through the area waiting for the food hall to open when we saw the mouse.
“It gave me a fright and we left straight after. We went back yesterday, New Year’s Eve, and reported it.
“We filled out a customer complaint form and they said they were going to get a manager to contact us.”
The teen said they didn’t know where the mouse came from and saw only one.
“We just saw it running around near some vents on the floor,” they added.
“It was scurrying around near to where some baby highchairs were being kept. It was near to the seating area and we just saw the one mouse. It was disgusting.”
A spokesperson for the Trafford Centre said in a statement to the Manchester Evening News: “Whilst occurrences like this are rare, we work very closely with our brand partners and follow all the necessary protocols to ensure we meet the controls set by the authorities.
“Our team will of course investigate swiftly any instances brought to our attention, ensuring Trafford Centre is a safe environment for our visitors and staff.”
