In the moments after the crash, the cars doors swing open and five people climb out of the car. Four of the men can be seen jumping over a wall on the other side of the road.
One of the men appears to run down an alleyway near a shop. A police officer comes into the view of the camera and appears to chase the gang who jumped over the wall. Another officer can be seen running on the other side of the road.
Following a search of the surrounding area two men were arrested. According to neighbours, there were several police cars at the scene, as well as a “police helicopter” overhead.
Witnesses reported seeing the crash unfold in a “matter of seconds”. One neighbour said: “It all happened so fast. I heard a car driving very fast down the street. Then I heard a loud braking noise. I thought to myself, there’s going to be an accident. Then the next second, there was a loud crash.”
As the neighbour ran outside, he claims he saw “police chasing the car, running very fast towards it”.
He added: “It was very scary. They (the occupants of the Land Rover) are not even thinking about the consequences. I don’t know why people behave like this.”
According to witnesses, police “swarmed” on the scene within “30 seconds”. The neighbour added: “They were so fast. There was a helicopter overhead too.”
