MOJO Liverpool’s sudden closure has left people “gutted”.
The rock and roll venue has been a fixture of Liverpool’s nightlife since 2008. The bar was previously located on Back Berry Street before it moved to Hanover Street in August last year.
However, the move to the larger complex in Liverpool One has been short lived as a statement released today confirmed the bar has now closed its doors for good. It said: “No one needs to be reminded of the challenges that face us all in the current climate but suffice it to say we have been forced to make a decision we hoped never to have to.

“We have had many wondrous nights with some of the most extraordinarily warm and welcoming people you could ever wish to meet. Our teams over the years and not least those who leave us today have never failed to be a delight. We will miss them and Liverpool dearly.”
MOJO Liverpool was a nightlife institution and its long opening hours meant it was often people’s final stop on a night out in town. Many have taken to the comments to share their sadness after the update and said MOJO’s closure marks the “end of an era”.
Jen said: “Gutted had so many nice memories (and hangovers) thanks to mojo, no place like it.” Caroline posted: “End of an era xx”
Victoria added: “Oh god no way had some of the best nights in old mojo”
Joanne commented: “Sad loved the old venue”
Layla said: “Completely gutted about this. Many, many great memories made.”
