Mohamed Salah drops fresh Liverpool future hint just hours after Arne Slot appointment

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah appears to have confirmed he will be staying at Anfield next season.

The 31-year-old’s contract with the Reds expires in the summer of 2025, and this has led to speculation that Liverpool will look to cash in on their forward. Salah managed 25 goals and 14 assists this season but was criticised for his performances at the turn of the year.

During his stint at the Africa Cup of Nations, Salah suffered a hamstring injury. He returned to grab a goal and assist against Brentford in January but was forced to sit out for the next two matches with a recurrence of the muscular issue.

Upon his permanent return to the Liverpool squad, Salah suffered a rough run of form, scoring just three goals in 11 Premier League appearances. These performances coincided with rumours that the 31-year-old could be departing for the Saudi Pro League at the end of the campaign; however, the ECHO has reported that the working assumption is for the forward to remain at Anfield this summer.

Salah now appears to have put any doubts about his future to bed as he set out his intentions for next season to his followers on X. He tweeted: “We know that trophies are what counts and we will do everything possible to make that happen next season.

“Our fans deserve it and we will fight like hell.” What happens after next season though remains firmly up in the air.
