Missing woman found dead at house was ‘lovely girl’ locals say after man arrested

A missing found dead in a house in Warrington was a ‘lovely girl’ one local has said. The body of the woman was discovered at a property on Folly Lane, north of the town centre, by police shortly after 9:30am this morning (Wednesday).

Cheshire Constabulary have confirmed she had been reporting on Tuesday night. No more details about her, including her age or name, have yet been disclosed.




Today the house was cordoned off as detectives and forensics teams examined the scene for evidence. A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

One neighbour told the Liverpool Echo that the occupants of the home were “a woman and a young child” while a passer-by described the woman as a “lovely girl”.

Another neighbour alleged there had been a “commotion at the property a couple of weeks ago”. He said: “Me and my wife were woken up in the night to the sound of shouting.

A 51 year-old man has been arrested

“When we looked out the window there was a woman lying in the street screaming. A man in a car picked her up and drove away with her.” It is not known whether the woman involved in the alleged incident was the victim.

One man who lives nearby who didn’t want to be named told said: “This is a nice place, a quiet place. There’s no criminality”. Another disagreed and said there’s always incidents involving “drugs, knives and guns”.
