A huge police cordon has been put in place outside a North Tyneside chip shop.
Northumbria Police officers are in attendance and an area outside the Magpie Chippy on Ripley Avenue, in North Shields, has been taped off. The reason for the cordon – on Avon Avenue – is currently unknown.
Multiple police vehicles are visible at the scene with the cordon in place. A number of officers are standing guard at the area of the street that has been taped off.
