Mauricio Pochettino ‘doesn’t have a CLUE’ what he is doing at Chelsea, claims Emmanuel Petit… as the former Blues star calls for shock name to replace the Argentinian

Mauricio Pochettino ‘doesn’t have a clue’ what he is doing at Chelsea, Emmanuel Petit has claimed.

The Blues are enduring another difficult season following the Argentinian’s appointment as manager in the summer, currently sitting 11th in the Premier League table.

There have been suggestions that Pochettino is close to losing his job, with his record similar to that of Graham Potter when the former Brighton boss was let go last season.

Last time out, Chelsea lost 4-2 at home to Wolves as they were leapfrogged by their opponents in what was another disappointing performance from Pochettino’s side.

Speaking to compare.bet, former Chelsea man Petit slammed the current Blues’ boss for his work, pointing to some specific examples of reasons for his struggled.

Petit (pictured) suggested ‘Pochettino refuses to mold his tactic around his players’ having spent £400million this season

‘I was so disappointed with Chelsea’s performance against Wolves,’ he said. ‘They looked so disorganised, were tactically a mess, no fighting spirit, communication, or character. I felt pity on the Chelsea fans.

‘I was thinking, why would you put Nkunku up front as a lone striker? Does he even know what Nkunku does best? In Germany and France it is well known that he cannot play by himself up front and never has done that. He is very good in the 10 or in a two up front, but he can’t do that role at all.

‘Pochettino refuses to mold his tactic around his players and the composition of the team just doesn’t make sense at the moment. He doesn’t have a clue what he wants to do, and his body language is not good at all, he looks like he is on the way out already.’

And there was one man who the Frenchman was eyeing up as a potential replacement should Pochettino be given his marching orders soon.

Jose Mourinnho has already managed Chelsea twice and has gone down as a club legend for his work in his first spell at the club, a stay that saw him win two league titles, two League Cups and one FA Cup.

The 61-year-old, who was recently sacked by Roma, would at least give the Blues something to work with, Petit claimed.

The Frenchman suggested former manager Jose Mourinho could make a sensational return to the club

‘I’ve seen the speculation that Mourinho could come in with John Terry as his assistant,’ he said. ‘When you think about it, it could be something interesting. He would give the team character and personality.

‘At the moment they are a broken team and he could be the man to come in and fix it. I actually think they need a manager who will have a proper vision of what needs to be done with the players that are there.

‘They have to stop buying players and looking at how they can develop what they have there already. Chelsea need to develop an identity, because at the moment they don’t have one.’
