The countdown is on until the Dons are back in the famous FA Cup – and tickets are still available to join us for tonight’s big game.
Though the match is being televised live on ITV 4 (7.45 pm kick-off), there’s no substitute for being here. Opponents Ramsgate have sold out of their allocation and well over 6,000 tickets have been snapped up, so we’re expecting a cracking atmosphere at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.
Of course, the Dons have a rich history in the FA Cup, winning the competition back in 1988 – and in 2019 we enjoyed that memorable night versus West Ham when the Premier League club were brushed aside 4-2.
Tonight offers an opportunity to create another chapter in our famous FA Cup story with a third round place up for grabs, so make sure you join us.
And it’s well worth getting here early as the FA Cup will be shown off from around 7.25 pm! It will be paraded around the pitch for supporters to get a glimpse of it – and in front of a national TV audience.
Below is your full Matchday Guide ahead of the big game.
Tickets
We’ve still got availability in the Cappagh Stand – £15 for Adults, £5 for 17 years and under – and the Ry Stand – £10 and £5 respectively, with tickets available from our online shop.
Dons supporters can pay on the night from our ticket office in the Club Shop – please note that there is a £2 increase for on the night prices.
Opening times
The turnstiles will be open for home supporters from 5.45 pm tonight – entry is via gates 2-5. For those supporters who have booked hospitality, entry is via gate one.
Gate six will be open from 6 pm for Ramsgate supporters to enter the ground, with gate seven open from 6.30 pm approximately.
It’s well worth first time visitors taking a look at a map of the stadium, plus other key details, by accessing our designated page on the official website.
Matchday Guide
Food and Drink
We’ve got one of THE best food parks around with delicious cuisines from around the world, but please note that this will be moved for one game only.
With ITV production vans located behind the Reston Waste (South) Stand, the Food Park will be situated behind the Ry (East Stand), including the following food outlets:
- La Posta
- Dough Shack
- MyPie
- Come & Go (Souvlaki wraps – Greek food)
A wide selection of food offerings will be available from kiosks on the Cappagh Stand concourse, including the following:
- Piglet’s Pantry pies and sausage rolls
- Hot Dogs
- Margarita Pizza slices
- Dorito Nachos
- Burgers including Vegan option
Our By The Horns Phoenix Pub is the place for quality beers, so enjoy a nice tipple or two after choosing from a wide range of culinary delights.
A quick way to get your pint is by utilising SwipeStation! Supporters can get a swift pint of Camden Pale Ale or Stella Artois from designated stations around the ground, including behind the Ry (East) Stand.
Train strikes
With another round of strikes planned for this week, we recommend checking your route if travelling in by train for tonight’s game. Visit the National Rail website to check before your trip.
Programme
Snap-up your matchday ‘staple diet’ for another big Dons occasion!
Yes, the matchday programme is back (£3 per copy), and it includes an extensive interview with Dons hero Terry Gibson, who will be broadcasting for ITV on the night. The subject of our current player interview is Omar Bugiel, who has an interesting story to tell about earning a chance to become a professional footballer after leaving Germany at the age of 16.
Club Shop
Part one of our fantastic retro offering will be in store tonight, including our popular pixelated socks featuring Dons heroes from the past! These will certainly make for excellent Christmas gifts, and so too will our retro mugs and Plough Lane street signs. The Club Shop will be open right up until kick-off, with the opportunity to snap-up that perfect Christmas present for friends and family.
Bringing bottles into the stadium
We announced earlier this season that supporters are permitted to bring drinks of water in clear plastic bottles into our stadium.
This will be in the form of 500 ml (or less) clear plastic bottles (an equivalent drinks container as used by children under 16 or those with medical requirements is also permitted). Bottle tops will also not be removed by matchday stewards.
Full Update
For containers not permitted (metal containers, as stated in the article), there is the option to leave them before the game at a collection point (by gate three) or on the level one concourse (gates one and two). You can then collect after the match.
Cashless Stadium
Don’t forget that we’ve now moved to become a cashless stadium.
See our previous article for full details.
Man of the Match presentation
This will be hosted in the Viticult Lounge after the match (at approximately 10 pm).
Those who have booked hospitality will be invited to stay on for post-match, but all supporters will be welcome upstairs to enjoy a drink or two and the entertainment.
For those not in hospitality, you will need to join a queue close to the autograph zone in the undercroft. You will then be shown to the Viticult Lounge/ Mezzanine area for the Man of the Match presentation.
If you are sitting in the Cappagh Stand for the game please use the stairs in the pub, or if you are sitting in the Ry or Reston Waste Stand, please make your way across the area behind the Reston Waste Stand and past the pub.
Unfortunately, no spectators will be able to leave the ground and re-enter to access the queue as this goes against our licensing terms.
Entry is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with fans will only allowed up once it is safe to do so after fans leaving the ground post-match.
Dons TV
Our popular Club Show is available on our YouTube and Facebook channels before and after the game.
Live pre-match will be from 6.30 pm until 7.10 pm, offering a great way to get in the mood for the game if you’re watching the game from home.
Pre and post-match shows are hosted from inside the Cherry Red Records Stadium, regularly featuring first-team staff and special guests.
To tune in, simply subscribe to AFC Wimbledon’s Youtube and Facebook channels, then set up a reminder for the pre-match and post-match shows for the game.
And make sure you message us while we’re broadcasting! We’ll pick up what you have to say and respond live on air.
Autograph Zone
There’ll be an opportunity for fans to get signatures from our players after the game by accessing our autograph zone in the under croft (behind the Club Shop).
Reusable cups
We have a reusable beer cup scheme to replace all single use plastic pint cups around the stadium. Once you’ve finished your beer, please dispose of your cup within the reusable cup bins located around the stadium.
