Erik ten Hag currently has a number of Manchester United players away on international duty as he prepares for a trip to Everton next Sunday.
The 1-0 win over Luton left the Red Devils in the top six of the Premier League, despite having lost five times in the top-flight already this season. But the trip to Goodison Park has now taken on extra significance, for the home side at least, after they were deducted 10 points on Friday for financial irregularities.
In the meantime, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is nearing a deal that will see him own a 25 percent stake in the club. The INEOS chief has already been reported to be putting transfer plans in place, with fans now waiting on an official announcement.

Rashford injured as crisis worsens
Gareth Southgate has addressed concerns that Marcus Rashford could be set for a spell on the sidelines.
Rashford was subbed off just after the hour mark as England claimed a narrow win over Malta on Friday night. The Manchester United star was involved in a collision with Trent Alexander-Arnold that left him sprawled on the deck, with Cole Palmer replacing him.

With Ten Hag already dealing with an injury crisis, Southgate said afterwards: “I think he (Rashford) is probably okay. We just thought given the nature of the collision it was a chance to get Cole into the game. I haven’t assessed too much but I think he was okay when he came off.”

Bayindir set for first-team bow
Erik ten Hag could be forced to hand Altay Bayindir his Manchester United debut after Andre Onana also suffered a worrying injury while on international duty.
Onana was forced off 10 minutes from time in Cameroon’s win over Mauritius with a suspected adductor injury. Such injuries can lead to extended spells on the sidelines, though Cameroon bosses are yet to reveal the extent of Onana’s issue.
The 25-year-old arrived from Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window. But the only football he has played this season came with the Turkish club and for his national team, with Onana even playing in the Carabao Cup ties.

Kane leaves Ten Hag red-faced
United boss Erik ten Hag may now be kicking himself that he didn’t choose to go all out for Harry Kane last summer.
Kane’s strike for England against Malta on Friday night made it 20 games, 25 goals, and eight assists for club and country in the 2023/24 season. But United instead pursued Rasmus Hojlund, paying Atalanta £72million for a player who, despite scoring five times in Europe, is yet to strike in the Premier League.
United’s Adidas home shirt is made up of the same colour of the city’s iconic red rose and features a black collar. The collar also features a dash of both red and white, giving it a slick and modernised look.
And Ten Hag’s words before United were beaten by Bayern in the Champions League may now haunt him. saying: “We have chosen a striker (Hojlund) and we are really happy. But (Kane) is a great striker, that’s clear, and he is a goal-maker.”
