A man has died after a car he was travelling in collided with a bus stop in Glenrothes.
The 21-year-old was driving a yellow Skoda Fabia along Foxton Road at around 7.40pm on Tuesday when it left the road and hit the empty bus stop, police said.
Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man, a 19-year-old passenger in the same car, was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment. He has since been discharged.
The road was closed for several hours while police officers carried out inquiries.
Sergeant Jill Kirkpatrick said: “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of the man who died and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
“We are looking to speak to any motorists who were on the road around the time of the incident on Tuesday evening, who may have seen a yellow Skoda Fabia, or anything else which could be of significance.
“We would also urge anyone with dash-cam footage to please get in touch with Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3094 of Tuesday, January 16.”
