A man heard two or three “bangs” as a gang on electric bikes opened fire outside a GoLocal corner shop.
Merseyside Police were called to Lee Park Avenue in Belle Vale at around 2.35pm on Friday, November 17, following reports of shots being fired in the street. Once officers arrived, it was reported to them a gang of men on electric bikes had fired a gun towards a Land Rover in the car park of a corner shop.
The force has confirmed they have still had no reports of any injuries following the shooting and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. One person living on the road, who asked not to be named, witnessed the aftermath of the shooting and said he saw a gang of around six people who he believed were involved.

He added that he first heard two loud bangs as he took his coat off after arriving back home.
He told The ECHO: “I only missed it myself by seconds, I was just driving in. I have to drive onto the other side of the road to get onto my drive, and if I’d driven a couple of minutes later the Land Rover probably would have smashed right into me it was going that fast.
“I was just standing here [in the hallway] and had taken my coat off when I heard this ‘bang bang’. I heard two or three shots.
“Then they got off on motorbikes and a Land Rover came and three lads jumped in it. But there were bottles that fell out of the car, I told the police they were lying out in the car park.
“I’d say there were about three on each side, six in total. The way things are, they get a name and next thing the car gets done, windows put in or you get shot.”
A cordon was put in place around the GoLocal car park along with a section of Lee Park Avenue. Forensics officers were seen taking pictures outside the corner shop while detectives made house-to-house enquiries.
Chief Inspector David Currie said: “The investigation is in the very early stages as we seek to establish what has taken place. Carrying or using firearms and dangerous weapons on our streets where people live and work will not be tolerated in Merseyside and I would like to reassure residents that our officers remain at the scene to investigate the incident.
“If you have any CCTV or dash cam footage from this afternoon that could have captured the incident please check your systems and contact police if you have any evidence. Information from our community is vital if we are to stop people carrying any dangerous weapons in Merseyside that causes such violence on our streets.”
