Shocking footage shows the moment two people were hit and kicked in a busy Camden street this morning.
It is not clear what led to the incident, but several reports suggested it could have been a mugging, with something appearing to be pulled from one of the victim’s hands.
Police said they were called to a ‘fight’ but it was already over by the time they arrived, and everyone involved had left.
Video shared from the scene around 7am showed how two men laid into the man and woman victims as they lay in the road.
At one point, the female victim stands up and is knocked back down.
The two attackers then get into a white Audi and drive off down Eversholt Street, a road close to Euston Station in north London.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called at 06:55hrs on Sunday, 12 May, to reports of a fight in Eversholt Street, NW1.
‘Officers attended the location. All parties had left when police arrived. Enquiries are ongoing to identify those involved.
‘Officers are aware of footage being shared on social media.
‘Anyone who was a victim is asked to contact police.
‘Officers all wish to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information that may assist their investigation.’
