Lizzie Cundy in terrifying ‘attempted break-in’ ordeal at Hampshire home as star shares snap from incident

Lizzie Cundy has revealed to her Instagram followers that she was the subject of, what she believes to have been, an attempted break-in at her home.

The 55-year-old managed to escape the ordeal unscathed after a quick-thinking neighbouring farmer raised the alarm with the authorities.

Cundy praised Hampshire Police for their prompt response to the alarm but they couldn’t catch those responsible.

The GB News contributor shared a blurry snap of the incident on social media as she urged her followers to remain safe.

Cundy penned on Instagram: “So this happened last night. After a lovely dinner with a friend, I was taking a bath and heard a huge bang and noise downstairs.

“Someone sounded like they were trying to get in my house…” Cundy continued.

Shedding light on how the crisis was averted, she added: “Luckily a passing farmer saw someone lurking around and thought it was suspicious and called the police immediately.

“Thankfully the police came around in minutes to my home but the 2 men drove off into my fence with such speed they overturned their car as you can see from the photo above.

“They then ran off into the night and the police couldn’t catch them. I just want to say a huge thank you to Hampshire police who came over so quickly and stayed with me.

“The police were amazing,” Cundy lauded before she warned: “This is happening way too often especially in rural areas.

“We all need to look after each other. Thankfully someone did for me. If anyone knows anything please contact Hampshire police.

“I’m feeling very blessed today I wasn’t hurt or anyone else, keep safe,” Cundy signed off. (sic)

It didn’t take long for Cundy’s followers to express their concern for the TV regular and share their relief that she remained safe.

One fan penned in response: “OMG!!!! This is awful and should not be happen! Thank goodness your local police responded so fast!”
