Liverpool are in action today as they face Arsenal in the FA Cup third round.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been handed a tough opening fixture in the cup as they try to win it for a ninth time. They will have to play the game without a number of players either injured or away on international duty, so Klopp is expected to name a much-changed side for the game. We’ll have all the latest injury updates right here.
Meanwhile, the January transfer window is open and Liverpool are being linked with various players – including Paris Saint-Germain and France superstar Kylian Mbappe.
But the biggest story of the day might be the news Jordan Henderson reportedly wants a Premier League return.

Liverpool could make millions from Jordan Henderson return
Liverpool could be set to receive a huge financial boost if former captain Jordan Henderson makes a return to the Premier League.
The 33-year-old swapped Anfield for the Middle East last summer, as he put pen-to-paper on a reported £700,00-per-week to join Reds legend Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq. However, the move has not gone to plan for either of the former Liverpool midfield duo.
Henderson and his new teammates currently sit in eighth place in the Saudi Pro League standings, having gone nine games without a win across all competitions. While Gerrard continues to come under increasing pressure, Henderson is now eager to make a return to the Premier League as he continues to struggle with both the weather conditions and abuse he has received for making the move.
While a return will likely not come at his former club, Henderson could be set to make Liverpool millions after they inserted a clause within the initial £12million sale to Al Ettifaq last summer. According to Ben Jacobs via his X/Twitter account, Jurgen Klopp’s side will receive a ‘healthy’ sell-on percentage if he sold in January.
However, he goes on to state that the Saudi club will only considering parting ways with the player if an ‘incredible offer’ arrives, after insisting he is not for sale despite his eagerness to make a return to England.

Liverpool ‘consider’ move for Championship star
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville in future transfer windows.
Both Newcastle United and Aston Villa have been credited with an interested in the 22-year-old winger, with Liverpool becoming the latest Premier League name to be linked with the Netherlands U21 international.
According to Anfield Watch, the scouting team at the club have been monitoring Summerville’s progress ahead of a possible move in the summer, with the club having a good relationship with the player’s representation as Jurgen Klopp looks to recruit young talent amongst his options going forward.
The Leeds star previously had a £20.5million release clause in his current deal at Elland Road, however this has since expired and now. The report also goes on to state that while Summerville is capable of playing in Mohamed Salah’s position, a move will not hinge on the future of the Egyptian star, who was previously linked with a move away to the Saudi Pro League last summer.

Chelsea boss opens up on possible Jordan Henderson transfer
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has commented on the possibility of signing former Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson.
Henderson, 33, sealed a £12million transfer from Anfield to Saudi Pro League side Al-Etiffaq this summer but has struggled to settle since arriving in the Middle East, as he now looks to make a return to the Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.
Although any return to the top flight of English football would need a huge pay-cut from his widely reported £700,000-per-week deal at Steven Gerrard’s side, Henderson is eager to make the switch after struggling with the heat in Saudi Arabia as well as the abuse he recieved for making the move.
Speaking in a recent press conference, Chelsea boss Pochettino was questioned regarding the possibility of completing a move for Henderson in the near future, where he insisted the club are focusing on their current players amongst the squad. “To be honest we didn’t talk about names,” he told football.london.
“At the moment we are not talking about bringing players. I saw Behdad here in the manager’s room with Paul and Laurence. I think tomorrow we are going to have a chat because we will be in the training ground.
“We didn’t talk about names or talk about position, we didn’t talk to bring players. For now, we are focusing on players like Andrey Santos to see what we are going to do.”

Jordan Henderson ‘desperate’ for Premier League return
Jordan Henderson is ‘desperate’ to return to the Premier League, according to a report.
The England international swapped Merseyside for Saudi Arabia in the summer in a shock £12million move to Al-Ettifaq.
He reunited with Reds icon Steven Gerrard – after the former Rangers and Aston Villa manager was appointed as the Ettifaq head coach.
Matt Hughes from the Daily Mail has reported that Henderson is eager to return to the English top-flight amid their slump.
In the report, Hughes claims that Henderson has told his Ettifaq teammates that he is assessing his options during the Pro League winter break.
