Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will move within a point of Premier League leaders Manchester City if they beat Luton on Sunday – with the game taking place at Kenilworth Road
Liverpool’s Premier League campaign continues on Sunday when they travel to Kenilworth Road to face struggling Luton.
Jurgen Klopp’s side go into the game sitting fourth in the table after winning seven of their first 10 league fixtures. Liverpool are just four points behind leaders Manchester City – who smashed Bournemouth 6-1 at home on Saturday – but have a game in hand.
Luton, meanwhile, are in the relegation zone with just one win to their name. The Hatters were expected to finish rock bottom of the table before the season started but have surprised their critics and will jump out of the relegation zone with a point on Sunday. Here are the latest headlines from the red half of Merseyside.
Give Endo time
Klopp has backed Wataru Endo to flourish after a slow start to life on Merseyside. The 30-year-old, who joined Liverpool from Stuttgart in August, has struggled for minutes since his £16million transfer.
Yet Klopp is confident Endo will become a fan favourite. He’s compared the Japan international’s first season at Anfield to Darwin Nunez’s after the Uruguayan struggled to hit the ground running last term. Nunez is now flying on Merseyside, scoring the winner in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup victory at Bournemouth on Wednesday.
Klopp said: “With Endo, just because of the age people think, ‘Why is he not like that?’ He is a different character to the other boys and you can see the steps he is making. He has another five years of top football in his legs.”

Szoboszlai’s admission
What are your thoughts on Liverpool’s season so far? Let us know in the comments below!
Dominik Szoboszlai has admitted he’s felt lonely since joining Liverpool. The Hungary international, 23, has made an immediate impact on Merseyside since arriving from RB Leipzig in a £60million deal in July, scoring a screamer in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup win against Leicester in September.
But off the pitch, Szoboszlai is struggling to settle in England. He admitted as much in an interview with Hungarian podcast Premier Leak. He said: “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel lonely sometimes. There are days when I’m just sitting on the couch wondering about what to do. Then I put on a movie and try to fall asleep, hoping for tomorrow.”
