Liverpool has a very busy week in store and if all goes to plan, it will have a match every few days for the rest of the campaign. The Premier League game with Luton at Anfield has been brought forward to Wednesday as midweeks will be very scarce if the Reds carry a quadruple bid as far as possible for the second time in three seasons.
Once the game with the Hatters has been negotiated, focus will turn to the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley. Three days later, Southampton visits Anfield in the next round of the FA Cup and most midweeks thereafter will hopefully feature Europa League games.
As his final season with the Reds nears its conclusion, Jürgen Klopp wouldn’t want things any other way. The Liverpool manager would certainly like fewer of his players to be out through injury though. While he has full faith in the squad members available, they will soon tire if he is unable to rotate them sufficiently.

Klopp is set to hold his pre-Luton press conference on Tuesday and we will have a better idea about who will be available for the matches this week once he was spoken. But with an eye on who is in or out of contention at present, here are the two Liverpool.com stories from today that you shouldn’t miss
Liverpool injury latest and possible return dates
The Premier Injuries website lists Liverpool as having nine players unavailable, and they don’t include Ben Doak, who might easily have played in the last few months. There are three other teams with nine men out and all but five clubs have at least five players who are out of action.
One of the sides only carrying a couple of injuries is Manchester City, but the Reds needn’t worry about that until they welcome them to Anfield on March 10. The matches with Luton and Chelsea in the next six days obviously take precedent as they will have an enormous bearing on how successful 2023/24 is for Liverpool.
Matt Addison has taken a look at the current status for the 10 players who are on the sidelines and whether they can be expected to return soon. The medical staff at the club have a serious job on their hands, with Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota and Dominik Szoboszlai among the players with fitness concerns.
Liverpool boss Klopp gets timely double boost
It’s not all bad news on the availability front for Klopp, with two players who were in decent form returning to the side for the win at Brentford. The most welcome sight was undoubtedly Mohamed Salah resuming action and picking up where he left off.
The Egyptian became just the fourth player to both score and assist in at least 30 Premier League matches when he directly contributed to the Reds’ second and third goals against the Bees. Having also done this against Crystal Palace and Newcastle, Salah has achieved this feat in three of his last six league games.
Another Liverpool player also did well at Brentford having missed the preceding two games. Matt Addison has taken a closer look at that man and the other issues surrounding the squad here.
