The M6 has been closed in both directions after a multi-vehicle crash.
The crash happened on the northbound carriageway at M6 Thelwall Viaduct, junction 21 Warrington.
However both sides of the motorway are closed including the southbound while emergency services deal with the incident.
National Highways reports up to 1 hour and 30 minute delays due to the closure.

M6 now reopen
The M6 is now reopen however lane three of four lanes is closed whilst emergency services are still at the scene.
There’s a 60 minute delay on approach with 7 miles of congestion. There’s still also a 30 minute delay south.

Multiple people taken to hospital
The M6 northbound is currently closed in Warrington following a serious collision.
At 7.48am on Monday 11 December police were called to reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the M6 northbound, at Thelwall Viaduct.
Officers attended the scene and found the collision involved two HGVs, a white Ford Zetec and a white Ford Kuga.
Fire and ambulance were called to the scene and the road was closed in both directions to allow air ambulance to land.
One person has sustained a serious chest injury as a result of the collision, they have been taken to hospital via air ambulance.
A number of other casualties have been taken to hospital by paramedics.
The southbound carriageway reopened at around 9.10am, but the northbound carriageway remains closed at this time.

Cheshire fire and rescue confirmed firefighters released the casualty and they have been handed over to the care of paramedics.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: “The northbound carriageway is now closed within J21 with traffic being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads. There’s now nearly a 90 minute delay northbound and 45 minutes south.”

Firefighters are currently at the scene of a multi-vehicle collision on M6 Northbound J20-J21.
Crews are working to release a casualty that is trapped in one of the vehicles.
