A Devon road has been partially blocked after a crash caused traffic to build up. Police were called to the B3192, which runs into Teignmouth, at about 7.20am today.
Higher Exeter Road has now been partially blocked in both directions following the incident. The stretch affected runs from Luscombe Hill to Teignmouth Golf Club, which is some way beyond the edge of the built-up area. Traffic was described as “heavy” on the traffic data website Inrix.
It was reported that the road was cleared and traffic “returned to normal” at 8.22am
Road due to reopen ‘shortly’
Police said, at 8.20am, that the B3192 Higher Exeter Road “should be opening shortly”.
Minor injuries reported
Police say the crash involved one vehicle, a Ford car, and resulted in “minor injuries” to an occupant. The force was unable to say how many people were in the vehicle. Devon and Somerset Fire Service was also called to the incident, which happened near the entrance to the golf club. A police spokesperson said: “We are at the scene with the fire service to make sure everyone is safe.”
