A main road in Bolton has been closed off this afternoon as emergency services respond to an incident.
A stretch of Moss Bank Way in the Astley Bridge area is currently shut. Greater Manchester Police said it is shut from the junction of Hillview Road to Blackburn Road.
Officers are on the scene ‘dealing with an incident’. According to eyewitnesses, investigations are being carried out within a cordon.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and find an ‘alternative route’. A post on the GMP Bolton Facebook page at around 12.15pm said: “#ROADCLOSURE | Moss Bank Way in #AstleyBridge is closed from the junction with Blackburn Road and Hillview Road whilst we deal with an incident. Please find alternative routes.”
