LAPD: Motorist Taken Into Custody Following OIS, Barricade


A man was taken into custody Thursday after barricading himself in a West Adams-area residence following a traffic stop in which Los Angeles police fired but did not hit him.

The incident began about 12:30 a.m., when officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3700 block of Exposition Boulevard, said Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department.

When the driver got out of the vehicle, an officer-involved shooting occurred, and the man ran inside a residence, Im said.
