Kyle Walker lodged a complaint with match officials before Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, according to a new report.
City maintained control of the Premier League title race with the victory, thanks to goals from Josko Gvardiol and substitute Erling Haaland.
They are now one point behind leaders Arsenal, although do have a game in hand.
But it wasn’t the perfect afternoon for City in Nottingham, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side had more shots than them in both the first and second halves.
Forest also missed a guilt-edged opportunity through Chris Wood, with Ederson also forced into two saves.
There were also criticisms of the pitch before the match, with Pep Guardiola believing it to be too dry – although he admitted it ended up working to City’s advantage.
He told reporters: “We were lucky today that the pitch was so dry, because the chances they [Forest] missed is for that reason.
“So we were lucky today that the pitch was in this condition.”
And according to the Daily Mail’s Jack Gaughan, City defender Walker even made a complaint to the match officials pre-game, with the grievance said to have stemmed from the condition of the pitch and that the grass was too dry.

Fortunately for Forest, though, the pitch was checked over and it was deemed that it was in an acceptable condition, and that Forest had committed no wrongdoing.
The Nottinghamshire club are already under investigation by the FA over their controversial tweet directed at VAR following the 2-0 defeat at Everton earlier this month.
And they were also docked four points by the Premier League for breaching the division’s Profit and Sustainability rules. Although the deduction dropped them into the relegation zone below Luton, they escaped it following their 3-1 win over Fulham at the City Ground on April 2.
