Kerry Katona has given an update on her latest reconstructive surgery.
The former Atomic Kitten singer, from Warrington, was a guest on Good Morning Britain and discussed her the operation to repair her nose after it was severely damaged by cocaine abuse spanning years. She revealed her mum had introduced her to drugs at an early age and that she had once suffered an overdose, which didn’t stop her from taking more drugs shortly after.
Opening up further during the chat with Ranvir Singh and Richard Madeley, the mum-of-five said her nose “was collapsing at the front” and surgeons took cartilage from her rib to rebuild her nose to “how it used to be.”

Kerry told the GMB hosts: “I went home after the surgery but the anesthesia wore off and I was in agony, so I had to go back in at 1am in my pyjamas. I get such anxiety when I see the blood and it really freaks me out not being able to breathe properly. I know it’s worth it though.”
The Warrington-born singer documented the process on her Instagram page, followed by 834,000 people. The drug abuse caused various holes in her nose and she went under the knife earlier this month at Pall Mall Medical to correct the damage.
Kerry said cocaine “became [her] best friend” following the breakdown of her second marriage and classed herself as a “binger”. She told Richard: “I wasn’t [taking it] everyday. I was more of a binger, once I started I couldn’t stop.”
When asked what speaking about her past experiences and challenges means for her children and how it affects them, the 43-year-old said: “Before I actually had my surgery, I had my ten year old with me and I showed her the hole. It’s on the front cover of magazines, she’s at that age.
“The parents buy magazines and I’d rather my children hear it from me and know what I have been through. There’s no burying children’s heads in the sand and trying to protect them, the internet is everywhere. Hopefully I put them off for life!”
Towards to end of the interview, Richard asked if he could get a closer look at Kerry’s new nose and sat inches away as he examined the surgeon’s work. Good Morning Britain weekdays from 6am on ITV1 & ITVX.
