Justin Timberlake escaped to Cabo San Lucas with his wife Jessica Biel and their sons Silas, eight, and Phineas, two, amid backlash over the revelations in his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears’ new memoir.
Following a rough few weeks, the 42-year-old singer looked relaxed as he soaked up some quality time with his family in Mexico.
In addition to chatting away with his two children and spouse, the 10-time Grammy winner was spotted glued to his phone as Biel, 41, slipped into a tiny black and white striped bikini by the pool.
After changing out of a blue and white tie-dye blouse and a pair of high-waisted linen shorts into her swimsuit, the Candy actress tossed her brunette locks into a tousled and walked toward a sun lounger.
Meanwhile, Timberlake sported a baggy t-shirt, green bucket hat and white shorts with navy racing stripes down the sides.
This marks only the second time he was seen Spears made explosive claims about him in memoir, The Woman In Me.
The star endured a turbulent October after Spears revealed she had an abortion because he ‘didn’t want to be a father’ and that he allegedly cheated on her during their three year romance from 1999-2002.
While Timberlake hasn’t publicly responded to any of the claims Spears made in her book, which was published on Tuesday, he did turn off Instagram comments.
A source told Page Six that the decision was made because of the, ‘hateful, disgusting things people were saying’ which comes days after sources claimed he was ‘not happy’ with Spears’ revelations in the book.
Timberlake hasn’t posted on his Instagram for nearly a month, when his reunion song with NSYNC – Better Place – was released on September 29.
The singer and actor posted a brief video with his NSYNC bandmates – J.C. Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick – discussing their new song.
Britney claims in the book that she got an abortion when she was just 19 years of age because he wasn’t ready to be a father so young.
‘It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day,’ Britney wrote.
‘This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated. But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young,’ she added.
‘If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,’ she added.
‘To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life,’ Spears writes of the abortion.
Earlier this week, a source told DailyMail.com, ‘Justin has not reached out to Britney at all about any of this and he is not going to because there is nothing he can say to her.’
‘She was there and is just telling it from her point of view,’ the source added.
‘That does not mean he is okay with it. Justin is not at all happy about what has come out in this book.’
They added: ‘Doing this book has given Britney life and she really doesn’t care who is offended by anything in it because it is what happened.
‘She was there and lived through it. No one can say anything. She has got this all out of her and is moving on now.’
A second insider claimed the ‘baggage’ from Britney’s memoir has been ‘stressful’ for Justin and his wife Jessica, whose wedding anniversary on October 19 was overshadowed.
Michelle Williams’ narration of the tome also went viral, mostly due to her mocking impersonation of Timberlake putting on an accent in a bid to impress Black musicians.
In the book, Britney accuses Justin of trying ‘too hard’ to fit in with Black musicians during his time in *NSYNC.
She recounted one such occasion in 1999 when they bumped into R&B singer, Ginuwine – prompting Justin to speak with a ‘blaccent’ which Britney clearly felt was inauthentic.
A ‘Blaccent’ – a combination of the words ‘black’ and ‘accent’ – is when a non-Black person imitates Black English, also known as African American Vernacular English (AAVE).
Speaking about the encounter with Ginuwine, she continued: ‘Walking our way was a guy with a huge, blinged-out medallion. He was flanked by two giant security guards.
‘J got all excited and said, so loud, “Oh yeah, fo shiz, fo shiz! Ginuwiiiiiine! What’s up, homie?”‘
She continued: ‘After Ginuwine walked away, [Spears’ personal assistant] Felicia did an impression of J… J wasn’t even embarrassed. He just took it and looked at her like, “Okay, f**k you, Fe.”‘
