Julianne Moore showed off her age-defying looks in a stylish new cover shoot as she shared the secret to a happy marriage on Thursday.
The actress, 63, looked sensational in a series of flawless photos for Harper’s Bazaar UK’s February Issue in a variety of chic outfits.
In the accompanying interview Julianne, who has been married to her husband Bart Freundlich for 20 years, gave an insight into their relationship as she highlighted the importance of ‘being present.’
Posing in a structured wool coat and matching wide leg trousers, she offered the camera a sultry stare before changing into a second look.
Julianna later wore a brown cape-style jacket for a photo on the balcony of New York’s iconic Hotel Chelsea.
The star originally met her second husband in 1996 when he directed her in The Myth of Fingerprints before they married in 2003.
Speaking of their marriage, she explained: ‘One thing is not to spend too much time apart. You cannot be intimately involved in somebody else’s life if you are not there.
‘The same way that you can’t parent someone if you’re not there: you know you have to be present.
‘We love to be at home. We love family time with our kids, with each other and our dog, and we love to watch movies together and cook and eat together.’
‘I feel grateful I have a relationship that’s as rewarding as it is, because it’s something I really wanted to have.’
Julianne and Bart share a son Caleb and daughter Liv, who are both busy in college.
Caleb is pursuing a master’s degree in music/screen scoring at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Liv is attending Northwestern University in Illinois.
Adding of her work life balance while working on upcoming drama, Mary & George, she continued: ‘It was the first time [while filming] I’d said, I don’t have kids at home.’
Julianne continued: ‘I can actually go away and be on location somewhere. And it was way harder than I anticipated. So that was an interesting lesson. I don’t want to be away for months at a time without my husband.
‘I want a community, I want to be with my family, I want to see my girlfriends – and I want to do nuanced, interesting, compelling work and be able to support myself.
‘Life is really short, and I don’t want to throw it away on one thing, you know? I really do want to have all of it.’
The February issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK is on sale from 4th January.
